The National Program on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) is a project funded by MHRD of the Govt. of India, providing e-learning through various web based platforms. A joint venture of 7 IITs and IISc, Bengaluru, its objective is to digitalize education.

The session of Jan-Apr, 2017 saw the total enrolment of 425 candidates which include students, faculty-members and non-teaching staffs. On successful completion and passing of the proctored exam the candidates are handed a certificate of merit as per their performance. In association with industry partners like Aricent, NASSCOM and Google, certification courses are offered by NPTEL 2 or 3 times every year with the objective of bridging the industry-academia gap.

Brainware is one of the most active participants in this project as students are encouraged to take up courses from a diverse curriculum and enrich themselves further. NPTEL courses are considered as a valuable part of the institution’s modules with Mentor’s helping students out in their respective areas of discipline. Along with this, the course also allows a perfect platform for the preparation for various national level examinations like GATE and NET. In addition to making it informative and examination friendly, NPTEL also offers practice tests and question papers similar to the actual online examination.
